Wasser.Wander.Welt. im Naturpark Schwalm-Nette
The names of the ten Premium Trails in Germany and the Netherlands alone reveal their unique and highly scenic charm. In the predominantly flat landscape of the Lower Rhine, hikers can discover exciting and varied landscapes in the area of the Maas, Schwalm and Nette rivers.
The Premium Hiking Region Maas-Schwalm-Nette
Experience the unique nature of the Lower Rhine.
Letting your mind wander while hiking – hardly any other hiking region embodies this as perfectly as the Lower Rhine.
The German Hiking Institute clearly agrees and promptly awarded all ten hiking trails Premium Trail status. Whether untouched streams, picturesque heathland or beautiful forests – the cross-border Maas-Schwalm-Nette Nature Park has created important wetland habitats, not least thanks to consistent nature conservation. The whole area is a kind of “hiking cultural heritage”, as the Premium Trails present their joyful interplay of forest, pastures, heathland and, of course, water to amazed hikers. Explore the Lower Rhine with its flora and fauna and let yourself be enchanted by the “Wasser.Wander.Welt.”

„Flat. Beautiful. Lovable. That is Wasser.Wander.Welt on the Lower Rhine. A region worth seeing and worth living in, where everyone can find peace and slow down. My advice: discover the region in hiking boots.“
