Tecklenburg Old Town
Germany’s northernmost hilltop town, located on the ridge of the Teutoburg Forest, enchants visitors with its picturesque historic centre, narrow lanes and stepped alleyways, dreamy corners and romantic half-timbered houses. The medieval castle complex with its Wierturm tower also provides an impressive backdrop for one of the town’s main attractions: the Tecklenburg Open-Air Theatre, with a first-class programme of musicals. Further highlights among the many sights include Haus Marck moated castle, the Otto Modersohn Museum and the Doll Museum, which houses one of the most valuable doll collections in North Rhine-Westphalia.
