An Active Family Day on the Rhine

Start the day by driving to the Krahnenberg car park in Andernach. This is where the Traumpfädchen Kleiner Stern. begins. On this approximately two-hour hike, you are sure to be amazed again and again – the trail opens up breathtaking views of the Rhine, including the “Most Beautiful Wine View of the Middle Rhine 2016”.

After working up an appetite on your hike, you will certainly want to recharge before continuing. At the hiker-friendly Parkhotel “Am Schänzchen” on Andernach’s Rhine promenade, you can enjoy fresh regional specialities in a wonderful riverside setting.

From the Parkhotel, it is just a five-minute walk to the Geysir Centre. Here, everything revolves around a unique natural phenomenon: the highest cold-water geyser in the world. The bubbling experience begins with a visit to the interactive Geyser Museum. Learn all the background information about the geyser and equip yourself with the knowledge you need for what comes next. After an idyllic boat trip, the Andernach Geyser awaits, ready to shoot its 60-metre-high fountain into the air for you to marvel at. An experience none of you is likely ever to forget.
